Shaping a Sustainable Textile Industry
Through the restoration of local towelling production, we are able to reduce import reliance, spur industrial development, and drive resource efficiency. Glodina’s flagship Black Label towels, specifically the Marathon® range, embody innovation via reduced water usage, faster drying, and enhanced durability.
The Value of True Impact
True impact is felt through meaningful actions that leave a lasting effect on the lives we touch. We are able to create true value through:
Job creation and community upliftment: By reviving local manufacturing, Glodina has created hundreds of jobs in Hammarsdale, positively impacting many employees and their families, and making a tangible contribution to the local economy.
Community investment: We proudly and lovingly support nearby creches, old‑age homes, and other social investment projects in our region, further highlighting our commitment to enriching the community beyond our factory walls.
Empowerment and dignity in the workplace: Our staff consists of 98% people of colour, which is why Glodina prioritises good working conditions, respect, and opportunities for historically disadvantaged groups, coupled with fair labour standards to enhance employee satisfaction.
Our Legacy
By rebuilding a globally competitive national brand, embedding durability and sustainability into our products, and supporting a resilient local industry, we aim to restore our reputation as the global gold standard supplier in towelling to secure a future where South African manufacturing thrives.
